I can’t believe it’s almost been six years since I started a WordPress. Since October of 2017, I have published 353 articles on this site. My decision to begin a WordPress began five months after moving back to California from Missouri, where heartbreak, singleness, and the lack of a solid church family left me wanting. As such, I wrote my first WordPress blog post about New Beginnings. In that post, I concluded by writing:
New things are here. I plan to strive to live out of them by the power of the Holy Spirit. This means no more holding grudges, no more spiteful comments—behind a back or in front of a face—no more blaming other people for my struggles in life. It is time to follow Jesus and actually believe Him when He says that ALL things have become new. My attitude is part of ALL.
Six years later, I still struggle with all those things.
But the beautiful truth about Christianity is that the Gospel always encourages New Beginnings. You don’t have to physically relocate. You don’t have to wait for a new season of life. You don’t have to wait for the New Year, a new month, or even a new day. Every moment is a chance for a new beginning.
My family recently relocated. My family is growing. But these aren’t the cause of my new beginning. The cause of my new beginning is Jesus. He died and rose again to give us another chance. Every moment we are enabled to take another breath and experience another heartbeat is a New Beginning from Him.
What will you do with yours?
In this with you.
Soli Deo Gloria
