I’m a writer. That much should be fairly clear given the number of words on this website. However, as valuable as I find nonfiction, my real passion is fiction writing.

I’ve been writing stories since I was at least ten. I remember writing my first trilogy about my family going on a hike and finding dinosaurs, only to discover in the third “book” that the dinosaurs were actually my cousins playing a trick on us.

From there I turned to Star Wars fan fiction with my brother and I travelling to a galaxy far far away where we interacted with various characters.

Around age 12, my focus shifted to creating my own fantasy world. I wrote several “plays” set in this world and have since done a lot of worldbuilding and established two series of at least 3 novels each with a potential prequel as well.

I don’t currently have the time for fiction writing that I’d like, but that’s something I’m working on changing. So you’ll find updates on my creative projects here.

What I do have time for is reading, and one thing you might find here is book reflections. This plays perfectly with the title of this blog: live in Love; find your true reward.

Fiction can be pooh-poohed by Christian leaders (though certainly not all of them), either because it’s not real or because there are questionable elements in many stories. But the reality is, if we approach stories with a Christian worldview based in love, we can gain a lot from just about any story. (There is still a place for discernment, so don’t take this as a blanket endorsement of every story or novel ever written.)

But I also want to encourage writers in their craft, so you’ll find writing tips and tricks here as well.

If something is worth doing, it is worth doing well, and as artists who love our craft, we should take pride in it and create art that instills a similar love in others. Whether that’s love of the craft or love of God and people as a result of the craft—live in Love; find your true reward.

In this with you.

Thanks for reading.
